Day 1: Welcome to Rwanda! 

You will be picked up by our guide/driver when you arrive at the Kigali International Airport who will transfer you to your hotel where you’ll spend the night. Distance from airport to hotel: 20 minutes.

Day 2: Kigali City tour.

At 9 AM, Breakfast at the hotel and the driver guide will pick you up from your hotel to embark the lifestyle of Kigali city and learning neighborhoods, markets and malls locations, museums and other important recreational places.

Estimated time:  5-6 hours

Richard Kandt Museum: This museum gives you all detailed history of social, economic, and political background before the colonial period.

Kigali Genocide Memorial: Kigali Genocide memorial will acquaint you with the barbarities of 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi which decimated the country and left an estimated of over one million innocent people dead. Other places to visit are:

• Campaign against Genocide Museum
• Kimironko local market
• Nyandungu Eco-park

Our lifestyle city tour will end in the evening and have a splendid panoramic night view from the top of Rebero that has an elevation of 1369 meters.

Day 3: Half Day Akagera game drive and Boat cruise.

At 6AM, We will pick you up from your hotel and embark your journey to Akagera National park with a stretch stopover at imigongo café for a quick breakfast. Distance from Kigali to Akagera Park is about 2 ½ hour drive, 105.2 km.

Arrival at the Park reception, registration and briefing from the park guide. We will do a half day game drive and conservation tour where you will have a chance to see hippos, crocodiles and bird species, mostly in the south of the park. The next stop will be for refreshment at Mantis Akagera Game Lodge for a lunch. After refreshment you will have a scenic drive to Lake Ihema for the sunset boat cruise.

Lake Ihema is known to be second largest lake in Rwanda after lake Kivu and famous lakes in East Africa to have large concentration of hippos.

During this experience, you will be learning the symbiotic relationship between hippos and crocodiles as well as aquatic birds. After this great experience you will be taken back to Mantis Akagera game lodge for dinner and a night stay.

Day 4: Full Day Akagera Wildlife experience.

This full day adventure game drive will start from southern part of the park and end at north Karenge luxury bush camp.

During this adventure, there is a chance to spot some big five animals like lions, elephants, buffalos, Rhinos and leopards. Large number of zebras and many antelopes along road sides. Beautiful sceneries of rolling hills, plains, lakes, swamps will give the uniqueness of Akagera National Park.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali for Departure. 

For this day, early morning game drive will be done before breakfast with a chance of spotting some animals, especially those rare to see during the day like leopard, hyena and lions. The breakfast will be served after the game drive, followed by the transfer to Kigali for the departure or at your hotel/apartment.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Payment Policy

• The deposit of 80% as an advance is required at the time of booking. The balance or final payment of 20% is due at the first day of the tour before leaving Kigali;
• In case the booking is done 45 days precedent the trip, the whole amount (100%) of the package will be required to confirm the booking;
• In case payment is done by debit / credit card, additional fee of 3% is required;
• The copy of proof of payment required and sent to the company’s business email (info@thinkotours.com) in order to confirm the booking.

Cancellation Policy

In the event that you decide to cancel a trip after booking it, certain cancellation charges will be payable to our supplier as your payments are immediately used to obtain lodging, tours and services at the best rates.

You understand and accept when booking through us that you are bound by our supplier’s terms and conditions and accordingly any policies they may have on cancellation charges.

• Cancellation fee of 25% if the trip is cancelled less than 90 days prior to the arrival;
• Cancellation fee of 50% if the trip is cancelled less than 60 days prior to the arrival;
• Cancellation fee of 100% if the trip is cancelled less than 45 days prior to the arrival;
• Payment for Gorilla Permits is nonrefundable.
