4 Days highlights Relaxing tour to Kivu lake and Twin Lakes 

Day 1: visit of Ndaba water fall, and boat cruise in Kivu lake (Kibuye side)

Day 2: Boat riding in Kivu lake plus hot spring (Gisenyi side)

Day 3: Gisenyi City Tour, Transfer to Twin lakes and boat cruise

Day 4: Return to Kigali.

Detailed 4 Days Itinerary to Kivu Lake and Twin Lakes.

Day One: Visit of Ndaba waterfall and boat cruise in Kivu Lake

At 8:30 AM, We will pick you up from your hotel and embark your journey to Karongi (Western part of Rwanda). On the way there will be a stopover at Ndaba rock and waterfall located in Karongi District.

Ndaba Rocks and waterfalls is part of the captivating cultural and remarkable historic attraction sites in Rwanda and one of the most visited tourist sites for its mythical/legendary stories that surround it.

After check in at the hotel and lunch, you will start doing boat cruise in Kivu lake where you will visit 3 islands know as Napoleon Island (for a short hiking and bats), Monkey island (for the Columbus monkeys), and Amahoro (Peace Island). This boat cruise will be an opportunity to see swimming cows.

The distance between Kigali and Karongi is 126.8 Km for around 3h 20min drive.

Day Two: Transfer to Gisenyi/Rubavu and boat cruise

After morning jogging / running and breakfast, you will leave Karongi at 10 AM heading to Rubavu (former Gisenyi town) for check in at the hotel and lunch with enjoying the fresh fish from Kivu lake.

After refreshment you will have a boat cruise in Kivu Lake On the Side of Rubavu with visit of the Nyamyumba Hot Spring. The boat cruise cannot end without classic sunset boat trip which is an unforgettable experience which goes together with music, drinks and amazing scenery. From the boat you will have a great view of surrounding rift valley and volcanoes in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and cross the canoes as they head out on Kivu lake for a night fishing. Depending on the day, Gisenyi nightlife can be organized.

Day Three: Gisenyi City Tour and Transfer to Twin Lakes

After jogging or running across Kivu lake and breakfast, Rubavu city tour will be done by visiting the 2 border between Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo on the side of Goma City located the Eastern part of DRC.

Around 10:30 AM, We will embark the journey towards Burera and Ruhondo Lakes located in the North of Rwanda with check in and lunch at My Hill Eco Lodge. After a refreshment, at 4 PM you will start the boat cruise in Ruhondo Lake with visit of different islands.

Distance from Rubavu to Twin lakes: 96 km for 2 hr 38 min driving

Day Four: Free time and Transfer to Kigali

The last day of the trip will be reserved for free time which can include morning photo shooting with a view to volcanoes, jogging or running, reading by enjoying the view to the lake and the volcanoes in Volcanoes National Park, as well as a view to the other hills.

After lunch at 2 pm you will drive back to Kigali.

Payment Policy

• The deposit of 80% as an advance is required at the time of booking. The balance or final payment of 20% is due at the first day of the tour before leaving Kigali;
• In case the booking is done 45 days precedent the trip, the whole amount (100%) of the package will be required to confirm the booking;
• In case payment is done by debit / credit card, additional fee of 3% is required;
• The copy of proof of payment required and sent to the company’s business email (info@thinkotours.com) in order to confirm the booking.

Cancellation Policy

In the event that you decide to cancel a trip after booking it, certain cancellation charges will be payable to our supplier as your payments are immediately used to obtain lodging, tours and services at the best rates.

You understand and accept when booking through us that you are bound by our supplier’s terms and conditions and accordingly any policies they may have on cancellation charges.

• Cancellation fee of 25% if the trip is cancelled less than 90 days prior to the arrival;
• Cancellation fee of 50% if the trip is cancelled less than 60 days prior to the arrival;
• Cancellation fee of 100% if the trip is cancelled less than 45 days prior to the arrival;
• Payment for Gorilla Permits is nonrefundable.
