On Sunday, January 7, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan embarked on a historic three-day visit to Rwanda, marking the first of its kind.

The discussions culminated in the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding, symbolizing enhanced cooperation between the two nations.

Continuing his itinerary on Monday, January 8, King Abdullah II paid homage to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi during a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where more than 250,000 victims find their resting place.

In a poignant message left in the tribute book at the memorial, King Abdullah II acknowledged the memorial’s role in commemorating Rwanda’s painful history and serving as a universal lesson in national reconciliation.
