Day One: Visit of Ndaba waterfall and boat cruise in Kivu Lake

At 8:30 AM, We will pick you up from your hotel and embark your journey to Karongi (Western part of Rwanda). On the way there will be a stopover at Ndaba rock and waterfall located in Karongi District.

Ndaba Rocks and waterfalls is part of the captivating cultural and remarkable historic attraction sites in Rwanda and one of the most visited tourist sites for its mythical/legendary stories that surround it.

After check in at Bethany Hotel / Inn on the Lake / Cleo Hotel and lunch, you will start doing boat cruise in Kivu lake where you will visit 3 islands know as Napoleon Island (for a short hiking and bats), Monkey island (for the Columbus monkeys), and Amahoro (Peace Island). This boat cruise will be an opportunity to see swimming cows.

The distance between Kigali and Karongi is 126.8 Km for around 3h 20min drive.

Day Two: Transfer to Gisenyi/Rubavu, boat cruise and you will drive back to Kigali

After breakfast, you will leave Karongi at 10 AM heading to Rubavu (former Gisenyi town) for lunch with enjoying the fresh fish from Kivu Lake.

After lunch you will have a boat cruise in Kivu Lake On the Side of Rubavu with visit of the Nyamyumba Hot Spring. From the boat you will have a great view of surrounding rift valley and volcanoes in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and cross the canoes. After you will transfer back to Kigali

Distance: around 140 Km with 2hr 45 min driving

Bring a hat, sunscreen and wear light clothes – such as shorts and a t-shirt that can get wet and a change of clothes to change into at the end. Our driver guide will take you from Kigali to Gisenyi.

Payment Policy

  • Deposit of 80% (at least) is required at the time of booking. The balance or final payment of 20% to be paid at the day of the tour before leaving Kigali;
  • If the reservation is made within 45 days prior to the arrival date, full payment is required at the time of booking;
  • The copy of proof of payment required and sent to the company’s business email (info@thinkotours.com) in order to confirm the booking.

Cancellation Policy

In the event that you decide to cancel a trip after booking it, certain cancellation charges will be payable to our supplier as your payments are immediately used to obtain lodging, tours and services at the best rates.

You understand and accept when booking through us that you are bound by our supplier’s terms and conditions and accordingly any policies they may have on cancellation charges.

  • Cancellation fee of 25% if the trip is cancelled less than 90 days prior to the arrival;
  • Cancellation fee of 50% if the trip is cancelled less than 60 days prior to the arrival;
  • Cancellation fee of 100% if the trip is cancelled less than 45 days prior to the arrival;

Payment for Gorilla Permits is nonrefundable.
