Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Musanze + cultural tour
For the first day you will leave Kigali at 10 am and head the Musanze City located in the north of Rwanda, and the office of the park is located around 20 min from this city.
After lunch check in at the hotel and lunch, you will visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village and the community surrounding Volcanoes National Park. By visiting the village you will learn a lot about Rwandan culture from the pre-colonial period, and it will be an opportunity of interacting with local people and explore the traditional rural life (milking, traditional dances, basket weaving, art and craft work, …).
After this experience you will return to the hotel for lunch and overnight.

5:30 AM: Departure from Kigali
Your journey begins with a 4:30 AM pick-up in Kigali. The drive to Volcanoes National Park takes approximately 2.5 hours, offering scenic views of Rwanda’s lush landscapes
8:30 AM: Gorilla Trekking
Arrive at the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a short briefing at 7:00 AM before embarking on a trek to see the magnificent mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. The trek can vary in duration depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find them, you will spend up to 1 hour observing and photographing these magnificent creatures.
1:00 PM: Visit Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund
On your way back, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about ongoing conservation efforts.
2:30 PM: Lunch at Twin Lakes
Enjoy a hearty lunch at a local restaurant near the picturesque twin lakes, Burera and Ruhondo.
5:00 PM: Check-in at the Hotel
Check-in at your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

6:30 AM: Breakfast
Rise early for breakfast and prepare for the day’s adventure.
6:55 AM: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Headquarters
Head to the park headquarters for a briefing about the golden monkey trek.
7:10 AM: Golden Monkey Trekking
Begin your trek to see the playful golden monkeys in their natural habitat. Return from the golden monkey trek around noon.
12:00 PM: Visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village
Visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a cultural tour, where you will be welcomed by the local community and experience their traditions and daily activities.
1:30 PM: Lunch
Enjoy a hearty lunch at a local restaurant
2:30 PM: Afternoon Transfer to Kigali
Post-lunch, transfer back to Kigali. Reflect on your incredible experiences during the drive back.
5:30 PM: Arrival in Kigali
Arrive in Kigali, where you can catch your flight back home or check into your hotel for the night.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Booking Confirmation
To confirm a booking, a deposit of 70% of the total cost of the tour is required. And the balance of 30% has to be paid 30 days before the tour start date. If the booking is being confirmed within 30 days to the tour start date, then the total tour cost should be paid in full.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Any cancellation must be done via the email of Thinko Tours and Travels, and the cancellations for paid bookings will be refunded less the cancellation fees for administration cost and other costs as below:
You understand and accept when booking through us that you are bound by our supplier’s terms and conditions and accordingly any policies they may have on cancellation charges.
- Cancellation fee of 30% if the tour is cancelled within 30 days and above prior to the arrival date;
- Cancellation fee of 50% if the tour is cancelled between 16 and 30 days prior to the arrival date;
- Cancellation fee of 100% if the tour is cancelled within 15 days and less prior to the arrival date;
- Payment for Gorilla Permits is nonrefundable.
The refund will be done to the same account and using the same mode which was used for the payments. Note that there is no refund in the event of a no show for the existing reservations.
